Drew Barrymore celebrated her 50th birthday on her show.
The Never Been Kissed actress – who officially rings in the birthday milestone on Saturday, February 22 – was joined by other celebrities during the special episode which aired on Friday.
Her Charlie’s Angels costar Cameron Diaz surprised her via video with a cute message.
And Adam Sandler, who worked with Drew on Wedding Singer and 50 First Dates, also called in.
Gayle King and Jane Pauley stopped by the show too as did Rachel Dratch and Molly Shannon.
Show regular Valerie Bertinelli was also on hand for the celebrations.

The actress also received birthday messages from her close friends, including Adam Sandler and Cameron Diaz
‘I just want to tell you happy birthday from all of us,’ Sandler began in his selfie video. ’50 years you have been on this planet, making it so much better.
‘And we are so happy to have you on planet Earth. We all love you. We all think you’re the sweetest, everybody. Everybody I know does. And happy happy birthday. All of us want to grow old with you. And we will.’
Sandler added, ‘So you keep being you Drew, and making us all feel excited about life. We love you, your kids love you.
‘My family loves you. You know that. From me and Jackie, love you,’ he concluded, referencing to his wife whom he married in 2003.
Adam and Drew notably appeared together on the big screen in the past such as The Wedding Singer (1998) and 50 First Dates (2004).
The actress’s Charlie’s Angels castmate Cameron Diaz also sent in a heartfelt message to her friend.
‘Happy birthday Poops!’ the star gushed, referencing to Drew’s nickname, and added she has ’37 years of actual data that I have stored in this brain.’
‘The thousands of lives that we have lived together. All of the beautiful moments that I can pull from my memory of us just laughing and living and loving in the deepest way. And that is truly – I have felt the privilege.’
The Mask actress added, ‘I have known the privilege of feeling that from you for 37 years, and I have to say that I have always been in awe of your ability to stay true to yourself and your authenticity and your resilience.
‘And you’ve just been the same person in that authenticity for the last 37 years. Giving so much love, light. You are thoughtful and compassionate and poetic and so dang smart.’

Cameron continued, ‘It is just unbelievable. I am so privileged to know you. And by the way, 50 years. This is the half a century mark. It’s – you’re just starting. You’re just getting started. And I am so proud of you.
‘I’m so excited about where you’re getting to jump off from at this point in your life because it’s exactly where you should be. And I’m very excited for you and I love you and I cannot wait to celebrate you very soon. I’ll see you soon Poopoo.’

‘I learned how to behave on sets from Drew. I looked up to you so much on Never Been Kissed, how you treated everyone.
‘And you had a tough childhood, you were alone, you had to learn to be an adult way too soon. And what you made of your life and how you treat people and who you are is like no one else. I’ve known for so long. You’re one-of-a-kind.’
The pair then shared an embrace as Barrymore began to cry over the kind message while the audience erupted into applause.

A number of surprises occurred on the show, such as Barrymore being given custom birthday cakes designed by her daughters Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10 – whom she shares with ex-husband Will Kopelman.
Flour Shop founder Amirah Kassem presented the sugary desserts to Drew who became emotional upon learning they were made by her children, per People.
‘I wanted to bring in two of the very best cake designers ever, and your girls actually designed these themselves!’ the baker explained to the Hollywood star, as Valerie Bertinelli also appeared next to the actress.

President of the California Institute of the Arts also presented the star with an honorary doctorate degree of fine arts.
‘Drew, we at Cal Arts are in awe of the impact you’ve made on the world as an artist and an individual,’ he said.

She was later able to reunite with Gayle and David Ward – the family she lived with while filming Firestarter and Cat’s Eye when she was a kid. Barrymore also resided with their children Jennifer and John at the time.
‘Jennifer, their daughter, we loved the fact that we looked alike,’ the actress recalled. ‘We were doubles in the film, so we were always together working.
‘And I didn’t have a sister, and all I wanted in this world was a sibling and Jennifer and John were like my sister and brother. And you were the first traditional family I ever lived with…’
Living with the family also gave the Hollywood star a ‘blueprint’ of how she wanted to raise her own daughters.
‘I did not know what a traditional family looked like, functioned like. You had such a beautiful family unit,’ the actress added.

‘We’re the three sardines, and we’ll get into our can. I’ve always spent the night with them on my birthday and their birthdays.
‘We have a tradition, so I’m doing a night or two of sleepovers leading up, and then I’m doing a sleepover with my daughters on my 50th. But the whole theme of the 50th birthday is sleepovers. Sleepovers should never go away.’
As she turns 50, the star also reflected on her 40s and expressed, ‘I never feel like something’s missing.
‘I was so capable of having fun and experiencing joy, but I don’t know if I was happy. There’s such a big difference, and now I’m actually happy.’
Drew added, ‘This decade has truly helped me find ways into choosing happiness, and I have to choose it every day over and over again.’

‘You just realize you’re going to live X amount of years, if you’re lucky, and I would like to live the second half of my life, like, the B-side of a record, not the same way as the A-side.
‘My whole life I’ve been worried and stressed, Barrymore said, and further explained that she is ‘happy and having the best time ever and I would have never guessed that I would feel peace.’
She then referenced to Lord Of The Rings by adding, ‘Thank you 50… It can’t come soon enough. I feel like Frodo. I see that brass ring and I’m so excited!’
