Now, more clues are emerging about when their romance actually began prior to when she first attended one of his football games.
She first popped up at one of the tight end’s Kansas City Chiefs games at Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri in September 2023, but as she previously confirmed, they were already in a relationship at that point.
The following month, it was reported that Kelce purchased a $6 million, 17,000-square-foot mansion in Leawood, Kansas in October 2023, and the pair would spend time there.
The first rumblings of their romance appeared to be when Kelce attended one of Swift’s Eras Tour concerts for the first time on July 8, 2023 — just shortly after it was confirmed the singer’s short-lived romance with Matty Healy had ended.
After the short-lived romance and amid the shorter-lived heartbreak, rumors and fan theories speculate that there were matchmakers in the racing world that inspired Swift to reach out to him.

Some fans speculate that their romance was already well underway by that point.
At the time, the superstar was amid her record-breaking Eras Tour and some fans pointed to specific surprise songs, especially their meanings during her acoustic sets.
Many Seattle concertgoers theorize that when she sang Everything Has Changed in July, the week before his podcast episode dropped, that they had already started dating.
And in October 2023, the pair stepped out together, side-by-side and hand-in-hand for the first time, to attend a Saturday Night Live afterparty.
Others speculate that Swift and Kelce were introduced by mutual friends in the fall following her split from Healy in the summer.
Because in late July, Kelce and his teammate Patrick Mahomes invested in the Alpine Formula 1 racing team — the same one that Ryan Reynolds, the husband of Swift’s close friend Blake Lively, had also invested in.
Some other theories say that Swift and Kelce were introduced by the A-list actor couple.
Sure enough, Kelce once praised a mysterious, matchmaking ‘cupid’ for masterminding his romance with Swift.

But just months after the couple made their public debut, the matchmaker’s identity was unveiled as a sports fan in Swift’s family.
Swift’s second cousin Danny Frye III identified himself as the individual who during an interview with FloRacingTV in January 2024 who made the ‘love connection.’
Previously, Kelce told WSJ. Magazine about a mystery ‘cupid’ but avoided naming names in November 2023.
‘There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who told her], “Yo! Did you know he was coming?” I had somebody playing cupid. [Later], she told me exactly what was going on and how I got lucky enough to get her to reach out.’

And this week, on Tuesday, Wes Bergmann said because he lived next to Kelce in the exclusive, gated community of Leawood, he was the first to know about their romance prior to the couple making their public debut.
He claimed he got wind of Kelce and Swift’s romance months before it was confirmed.
However, it remains unclear if Bergmann actually witnessed Swift and Kelce together or if heard whispers around town.
‘He’s an enigma. On one hand, he’s like this big, tough football player. On the other, he’s going to have about 12 Taylor Swift songs written about him,’ he told The Social Game Podcast hosts Michele Fitzgerald and Kellie Nalbandian on March 4.
‘Okay, and on that note, I was, like, the first person to know about any of this stuff, and I tried to tell this woman a long time ago,’ he said, referring to Fitzgerald. ‘”They are together, just so you know,” and she didn’t believe it.’
He continued: ‘She didn’t believe it. She was like, “She only goes for artists.”

Fitzgerald then chimed in, gushing about how Kelce did not appear Swift’s usual type but noted that he seems to be a better fit for her compared to previous partners.
‘She loves a brooding artist. Usually they are a bit scrawnier, they’re kind of like womanizers in a lot of ways. And then you have him — who seems chivalrous, an all-American football player and he has just been winning and crushing.’
‘To me, he’s the boy next door,’ Bergman added before Nalbandian labeled him, the reality star known for The Challenge, as the ‘winner of girly chat’ for being among the first to know that Swift and Kelce were dating.
