Drew Barrymore got grilled by Watch What Happens Live host Andy Cohen about who she thinks is her best onscreen kisser during Wednesday’s episode.
‘I mean, I love that Adam Sandler and I are so platonic,’ the former child star – turning 50 this month – confessed.
‘We never dated, his wife Jackie is my dear friend. But I love being in films with him, because I think we’re representing something bigger than like hot, sexual chemistry. We’re representing like true admiration of another person.’
Drew and the 58-year-old comedian first played love interests in Frank Coraci’s 1998 rom-com The Wedding Singer, which earned $123.3M at the box office and scored 72% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Barrymore and Sandler then reunited for Peter Segal’s 2004 rom-com 50 First Dates, which earned slightly less $198.5M at the box office and scored 45% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Drew Barrymore Show producer-host and Adam then teamed up a third time for Frank Coraci’s 2014 rom-com Blended, which amassed $128M at the box office but scored a dismal 15% on Rotten Tomatoes.

‘The best thing is that my wife loves Drew so much that there’s no jealousy at all. She’s just like, “Get in there!”‘ the SNL veteran recalled on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014.
Drew replied: ‘If you’re not being romantic enough, she will like, berate you behind camera.’
Adam recalled one incident where his 50-year-old wife shook her head after a take on the Blended set.
‘She yells at me!’ Sandler said.
‘She said, “Just please, for the sake of women, get in there and just look a little more alive!”‘
Later on WWHL, Barrymore revealed that she’s caught Sandler’s 16-year-old daughter Sunny and her two daughters – Frankie, 10; and Olive, 12 – watching 50 First Dates on more than one occasion.
‘I was like, “Really you guys? Like, you sure you want to watch this right now? And they’re like, “Yeah!”‘ the seven-time Emmy nominee marveled.
‘And they watched the whole movie while I was making popcorn. We had just played a three-round of Monopoly. They needed to decompress. They’d seen it before. I just tripped out, I was like “Sandler’s and my kids are watching 50 First Dates together!” I was like, “You’re crossing the streams!” It’s so cool!’
Last year, Drew said she’d love to do a fourth film with the Mark Twain Prize winner and his other frequent co-star Jennifer Aniston that’s reminiscent of Three’s Company or Death Becomes Her.

‘We’re all producers. So we all have companies. So we can make this happen, and I think it’s a matter of timing.’
But the three-time divorcée – who publishes a quarterly print magazine in her name – might have her hands full producing and hosting the No. 2 syndicated daytime talk show as well as producing and serving center-square duties on CBS’ Hollywood Squares reboot.
Drew is also every bit the influencer with paid partnerships with brands like MSC Cruises US, Walmart, GarnierUSA, and Command.
