Harrison Ford, 82, reveals what it would take for him to retire from acting once and for all

With two new TV shows (1923 and Shrinking) and a new movie as well (Captain America: Brave New World), Harrison Ford is showing no signs of slowing down.

The 82-year-old actor hit the red carpet in Los Angeles on Wednesday for Season 2 of 1923, when Entertainment Tonight caught up with him.

Ford was asked if he has any plans on retiring, and he had an unusual answer on the red carpet.

When asked what would get him to retire, and spend more time at home with his wife Calista Flockhart, Ford simply said, ‘When you forget my name.’

Ford added that the new season – which debuts on Paramount Plus Sunday, February 23, is, ‘very strong.’

‘It’s great. It’s a very strong season,’ Ford said, and when asked if he would return for a potential third season, Ford shrugged and said, ‘I just work here.’

‘Taylor (Sheridan) tells me when he has a story,’ he said of the Yellowstone universe creator.

The self-deprecating star was also asked how he would describe this phase of his career, and he simply replied: ‘Stupid.’

When the interviewer said he’s ‘killing it’ and that he’s ‘everywhere,’ Ford replied, ‘A little bit too everywhere for my sensibilities.’

He elaborated on this stretch of films and TV shows, ‘I ran into a vein of really good writing, and I thought I’d take advantage of it, and I’m really glad I did.’

Along with his movies and TV shows, Ford also made a surprising appearance in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep earlier this month.

The actor revealed in an interview with People that he initially turned down the ad gig at first.

However, it turned out that his Indiana Jones And The Dial of Destiny director James Mangold ultimately persuaded him.

‘You always say no at first… [But the commercial] was refined and personalized. [With James’ input] it came out to be something that I really feel comfortable with,’ Ford said.

The Star Wars actor described the two-minute commercial, which was titled ‘Owner’s Manual’, as a ‘rumination on life.’

‘It’s about having control and choice in your own life, and it’s about assuming the responsibility for your own life,’ he said.

‘I think [the ad] was inspired in the way that it was shot, the way that it was made. I was happy to be involved… It’s not the in-your-face big splash kind of Super Bowl commercial. It’s a soft sell.,’ he said.

He said: ‘We’re just going to be there, eating and drinkin’ like everybody else. I’m there to watch the game.

‘I’ve seen the commercial. I know how it ends,’ he joked.
