Morgan Stewart has garnered backlash after sharing an emotional TikTok video on Thursday as she talked about the ‘horrific’ LA fires in front of a wall filled with Birkin bags.
The Rich Kids Of Beverly Hills alum, 35, explained towards the beginning of the clip that both she and her family are safe but reflected how it was ‘unfathomable’ how thousands of people ‘lost everything.’
However, some fans quickly noted in the comment section how the star filmed the reel while sitting near an assortment of pricey Birkin bags – with one social media user calling the background ‘horrendous.’
Stewart said she had intended to share a different video for the new year before the catastrophic wildfires began – which have since destroyed over 12,000 structures and claimed the lives 11 people as of Friday, per NBC.
The star – who is married to Dr. Phil’s son Jordan McGraw – stated that ‘what has unfolded over the past two days is just the most horrific thing that I have ever experienced.’
‘And I’m luckily safe, my family is safe. We were on evacuation notice last night, but people that have lost everything is horrific, truly horrific.’

‘I mean, the way the city is just burnt to the ground after like what has been such an awful time post-Covid anyway. Like, things have not been the same.’
She added, ‘And if you grew up here, you know that. It was like so magical when you were here when you were little.’
‘And now to think that all these people are going to move away again – it’s just, it’s unfathomable. And the fact that people don’t have anything. They don’t have their home, they don’t have their clothes.’
‘They don’t have their memories. They don’t have their jewelry. They don’t have anything that…I don’t know,’ Morgan further reflected.
‘I had to pack a bag last night because we were on evacuation notice…And I was like, “What am I bringing?” And I was like, “Leggings and notes my dad gave me and jewelry.”‘
‘But I was like, the rest of it can burn to the ground, really,’ she said and then added after a brief pause, ‘Um, awful. Truly awful. So bad.’
However, in the comment section of the video, fans shared their thoughts on Morgan’s choice of background.
One wrote, ‘As you sit in front of countless Birkins… I feel your pain,’ while another added, ‘Girl Please, you really had to put that in the background.’
