The Price Is Right, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and more pause tapings as Hollywood goes into lockdown amid wildfires

Hollywood has gone into lockdown amid the raging Los Angeles fires, with a string of television shows pausing tapings on account of the crisis.

Beginning Tuesday, the area was struck by its worst windstorms in over a decade, fueling fires that have destroyed over 1,000 structures and claimed at least two lives.

Tens of thousands of people have been evacuated, and California Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.

One fire in the Pacific Palisades area has consumed a number of celebrity homes, including Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s house, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s residence and Ricki Lake’s oceanfront property.

Now it has emerged TV production is partly on hold, with a number of unscripted shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! suspending their shoot schedules over safety fears.

One of those series is the long-running CBS game show The Price Is Right, which typically films three episodes a day, according to Deadline.

The Price Is Right is shot at Haven Studios in Glendale, within the evacuation zone of the eastern Eaton Fire, which has killed at least two civilians.

By late Wednesday morning, the Eaton Fire had spread across over 10,000 acres, according to an announcement by Angeles National Forest officials.

Meanwhile Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which shoots in the heart of Hollywood at the El Capitan Theatre, will air a repeat episode Wednesday night.

The original episode that was meant to be taped Wednesday would have featured Wicked star Cynthia Erivo and The English Teacher actor Brian Jordan Alvarez.

Another CBS program, the comedy panel show After Midnight hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, has also had filming put on hold on account of the fires.

After Midnight, which is shot on the Paramount Pictures studio lot in Hollywood, will be airing repeats both Wednesday and Thursday.

Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Price Is Right and After Midnight are all filmed with live studio audiences, which reportedly contributed to their decision to postpone filming so as not to put more people’s safety in jeopardy.

The lower lot of Universal Studios is closed for Wednesday, which means a number of scripted programs have also had to postpone filming.
